![]() Anna Marie Davis, 66, of Valley Lee, MD, formerly of Haymarket, VA, passed peacefully on January 14, 2006 at home.
Born August 21, 1939 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of late Henry and Viola West Joy. After raising her children, she spent many years as a home health nurse, a profession which gave her great satisfaction. In addition to gardening, she enjoyed canning and baking, and was well known for her unique Christmas cookies. She also liked to hold gatherings with family and friends, but her greatest passion was crafts, especially crocheting and cross-stitching. Her work has been featured in craft shops around the VA/DC area. She constantly amazed family and friends with her special creations and her homemade ornaments have been hung on Christmas trees for many years by those she loved. In recent years, she enjoyed sharing her passions with her children and grandchildren. Her family and her friends of a lifetime from her childhood in Washington, DC, homes in Capital Heights, MD, Forestville, MD and Haymarket, VA to Valley Lee, where she always wanted to be, will greatly miss her. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Davis, Sr., daughters; Mary (Michael) Stone of Front Royal, VA, Christine (Robert) Dolaway of Brunswick, MD and Janet (Kenneth) Flynn of Mt. Airy, MD, sons; Raymond (Ruth) Davis, Jr. of Westminster, MD, David Davis and James Davis, both of Clearbrook, VA, 11 grandchildren; Michael, Mark, Traci, David, Sara, Logan, Kenneth, Kelly, Patrick, Julia and Matthew, brother, Robert (Helena) Joy of Centreville, MD and sister, Margaret Harvey of Arlington, VA. Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be conducted 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in St. George Catholic Church cemetery, Valley Lee, MD. All family and friends are then invited to the family home in Valley Lee for an informal reception.
