Louis John Stier, 61, of Waldorf, MD, died March 13, 2009.

Mr. Stier was a Project Manager with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for 20 years. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was an avid hunter, loved to fish and spend time on his boat. He was a devoted husband and father.

Born on May 30, 1947, in Bethlehem, PA, he was the son of the late Gabriel Vincent Stier and the late Elizabeth Terzigni Stier.

He is survived by his wife Marlyn Stier; daughter, Heather Amherst of Waldorf, MD; brothers, Andrew Stier of Effort, PA; Gabriel Stier, Jr. of AZ.

Viewing will be Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 2-4PM and 6-8PM, at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 7PM, at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate.

Interment will be March 23, 2009, 2PM, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
