Ann Elizabeth Downs Huseman, age 97 of Hollywood, MD passed away peacefully on October 5, 2023 at St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born on March 20, 1926 in River Springs, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph Clifton and Helen Mildred Bailey Downs. She was the loving wife of William Joseph "Billy" Huseman, Sr. for 76 years, whom she married on March 17, 1945. She is survived by her sons William Joseph "Joey" Huseman, Jr. (Janette) of La Plata, Md and Walter Daniel "Danny" Huseman of Lusby, MD; five grandchildren Christopher Scott Huseman (Anita) of Adamstown, MD, Mark William Huseman (Jennifer) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Katherine Alexandra Huseman of Lusby, MD, Brandon Allen Huseman and Crystal Ann Huseman of Ft. Meyers, FL; eight great-grandchildren Nicole Marie Huseman of Adamstown, MD, Christopher Joseph Huseman of Holly Springs, NC, Anthony Thomas Meadows (Chrissy) of Waldorf, MD, Zachary William and Tyler Christopher Huseman of Cocoa Beach, FL, Nathanyel William Huseman and Ronilynn Grace Tackett and Haley Marie Huseman of Ft. Meyers, FL; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also preceded in death by her youngest son Ronald Allen "Ronnie" Huseman (Patricia Ann) of Ft. Meyers, FL, brothers Walter Bailey Downs of Coltons Point, MD, Thomas Elwood "Nick" Downs (Patsy) of Avenue, MD, Joseph Mitchell "Joe" Downs (Jean) of LaBelle, FL, James Milton "Buddy" Downs of Abell, MD and sisters Joan Theresa Downs of Bushwood, MD, Patricia H. Troger of Silver Spring, MD and Thelma D. Reingruber of Annandale, VA.

Ann was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident who attended Saint Mary's Academy in Leonardtown, MD. She worked for many years at the First National Bank in Leonardtown, MD where she retired. Ann's great love was her family — being a loving wife to her beloved husband "Billy" and caring for and raising their three sons. Ann also loved to cook and always looked forward to and enjoyed celebrating the holidays by having Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at her home for family and relatives. She had a very deep-rooted passion for her family and spending time together.

Ann was a Charter Member of the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary where as a Life Member she was very dedicated to the support and betterment of the Fire Department and the local community. Over the years she enjoyed supporting and participating in annual fundraising events such as bake sales, craft shows, card parties, dances, bingo nights, carnivals and dinners.

Ann grew-up as a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Avenue, MD. Since 1952 Ann has been a devoted member of the St. John Francis Regis Catholic Parish in Hollywood, MD.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with prayers recited at 7:00 pm at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Parish, Hollywood, MD with Father Ryan Braam officating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Huseman, Mark Huseman, Brandon Huseman, Crystal Huseman, CJ Huseman and Zach Huseman. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Reingruber, Teddy Downs and Jimmy Downs.
