Lois Ann Menard, 71, of Great Mills, MD, passed away on July 31, 2023 in California, MD. Born on March 27, 1952 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Blanche M. Moneymaker and the late Lloyd A. Moneymaker. Lois was the loving wife of the late Victor A. Menard, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 6, 2011. She is survived by her children, Victor A. Menard, Jr. (Jennifer) of California, MD and Jennifer A. Marsh (Josh) of Park Hall, MD, her older sister, Patricia M. (Moneymaker) Redmond (George) of Little River, SC, her grandchildren Jesse M. Marsh (Stormie) of Lexington Park, MD, Sydney R. Vanderborght (Alec) of Leonardtown, MD, and Brady Menard of California, MD, two adorable great grandsons, as well as her beloved nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great nieces, and "chosen" family members.

Lois was a lifelong St. Mary's County, MD resident and graduated from Great Mills High School in 1970. She went on to graduate from the College of Southern Maryland (AS, Computer Programming) in 1996. Lois was a Budget Analyst NAWCAD Comptroller at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD. She was well-received by all who she supported and those who worked side-by-side with her. Lois retired in 2012 after 25 years of service.
Lois spent the end of her days at her son and daughter-in-law's home; she passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side—her sister, both children and their spouses, three grandchildren and two of their spouses, and two great-grandbabies.

Lois was a super sweet, caring, loving, and giving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and lady. She was always willing to take in her daughter's stray animals and her oldest grandson's stray friends, so she was Grandma to many! Lois had many early mornings waiting for the school bus with her grandchildren, while doing so, grading the drivers that went by or learning new words, or looking for zebras in trees. Lois loved knitting with her friends at the Loffler Senior Activity Center and meeting her granddaughters for lunch at any of the local Mexican restaurants. Lois had many spoiled fur babies; Sophie and Spritz were her doggies and Lily and Calvin were her kitties. All have been taken in by family for continued love and care.

Lois enjoyed watching the hummingbirds that would visit every spring and summer. She always had a feeder outside her living room window so she could watch them frolic. Lois also enjoyed shopping, shopping with her sister, and crafting.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 9:45 AM with Rev. Nancy Eichorn officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Great Mills, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Brady Menard (grandson), Jesse M. March (grandson), John M. Marsh (son-in-law), Alec Vanderborght (grandson), Scot Matthews (nephew), and Joe M. Porter (Lois' personal handy man).
