William Francis Ellis, 66 of Mechanicsville, MD died on March 7, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on October 27, 1942 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late William Blaine and June Louise Fairall Ellis. Mr. Ellis retired in 1998 as an Operating Engineer for the Local 77. He has resided in this area for 31 years. He attended Barry school in Washington, DC and also lived and worked in the metropolitan area. His hobbies were collecting stamps and coins.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Jane Houck Ellis whom he married in 1975. Also survived by his son, Chad Ellis, aunts, Helen Dean of Clinton, MD, Doris David of Silverton Oregon, and Sue Tyler of Arizona, an uncle, Bobby Ellis of Suitland, MD, and survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family received friends and Celebrated William's Life Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Funeral Services will be held today, Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 21708 Mt. Zion Church Rd., Mechanicsville, MD. Interment will be Friday, March 13, 2009 at Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery, Todd, North Carolina.

Serving as pallbearers in MD will be; Bobby & Rob Ellis, Marck Dean, Jay and Matthew Ammann, and Russ Newberry and pallbearers in NC will be; Arnold Houck, Kyle Holman, Roger Stidhams, Jeremy Baker, Tracy Phipps, and Jim Taylor.
