Our dear mother, Stanislawa "Stacy" Szlendak, passed away on July 28, 2023 at the age of 100. Stacy was born in Poland on July 20, 1923. She survived WWII, and came to the United States and became a proud citizen. She was always concerned about providing for her family. She had a green thumb and kept her property full of blooming flowers year-round.

Stacy is survived by her children Karl Szlendak, Krystyna Morgan, George Szlendak, and Joseph (Jill) Szlendak, her grandchildren Lisa Marie and David Steffeck, Austin James Szlendak, Nicole (Jason) Vehawn, and Brittany Szlendak, as well as great grandchildren Kaleb Vehawn and Abigail and Zac Steffeck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, a son, Casimir, and an infant daughter, Theresa.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Karl Szlendak, Krystyna Szlendak Morgan, George Szlendak, Joseph Szlendak, Jason Vehawn, Nicole Vehawn, and John Mazzullo.
