Charles H. Shadwell, Jr. of Lusby, MD formally of College Park, MD died on March 3, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Shadwell was born on June 22, 1928 in Wiley Ford, West Virginia to the late Charles Henry Shadwell and Mary Delphia Bean Shadwell.

Charles Shadwell was a World War II veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He was a member of the American Legion Post #274, Lusby, MD since 1979.

He is the devoted husband of the late Cathern "Kitty" Shadwell.

Loving father of Mark A. Shadwell, Dolly Bentley and the late Charles H. Shadwell, III, Lawrence R. Shadwell and Bonnie J. Nero; brother of Frances Llewellyn and Pat Johnson.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD on Saturday, March 7 at 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M. American Legion Post #274, Lusby, MD will offer a service for their comrade at 1:00 P.M. Pastor William Davis will officiate the memorial service to follow. Interment in MD Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on Tuesday, March 24 at 1:00 P.M.
