Allen Joseph Chester, Sr., 61, of Bryantown, MD, passed away on February 25, 2009, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Mr. Chester was the owner / operator of C & C Pest Control, Inc. for 27 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1965 - 1968 on the U.S.S. Littlerock. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Floyd Rush. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Moose Lodge, V.F.W. and the Pest Control Association. He enjoyed fishing and baseball (The Nationals and the Orioles) and was an avid Redskin fan.

Born August 14, 1947, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Alfred Joseph Chester and the late Betty Jane Alice Gatt Chester.

Predeceased by his parents; his step-daughter, Christy Foreman; and his brother, Donald Rush.

Survived by his wife, Linda Gladmon Chester; step-father, Floyd Rush of Waldorf, MD; son, Allen Joseph Chester, Jr. of Washington, DC; daughter, Alisa Key of Arlington, VA; brother, Charles Chester of Lothian, MD; sisters, Susan Maier of Chesapeake Beach, MD; and Martha Rigsby of Washington, DC; grandson, Cullen Key; three nieces and one nephew.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with funeral service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD. Rev. Dr. John Warren will officiate.

Interment will be at 10AM, March 6, 2009, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
