![]() On the morning of February 24, 2023, James Alan Jenkins (known as Jimmy and Heyman) of California Maryland, died at the age of 61. James was born to Margarete (Barret/Jenkins) Woodin and Edward Dudley Jenkins, March 11, 1961, in Augusta, Georgia.
On October 11, 1979, James married his longtime girlfriend Connie E Walton and together raised 4 children, James, Eric, Melissa (Becky), and Gene (Mikey). James was an avid outdoorsman he loved being out in nature whether it was messing with his plants, hiking in the woods or going hunting and fishing, if he wasn't working he could be found enjoying the outdoors. James had a love for all kinds of music, he enjoyed listening to and playing music with his friends and family. One of many things he will be remembered for is his story telling. James always had a story to tell, whether it was one he experienced or was one that was told to him, he would sit and talk for hours. James was also known for his kind, caring and generous nature, he made friends easily and would do what he could to help others. James was preceded in death by his father Edward Jenkins and his oldest brother Edward Jenkins. He is survived by his mother Margarete (Barret) Woodin, stepfather Rickard (Dick) Woodin, sisters Trudy Black, and Kathy Smith, brothers Robert Jenkins, James "JB" Jenkins, Jeff Terry, Rick Terry, Stacy Jenkins, Newton Jenkins, and Lonnie Jenkins, wife Connie (Walton) Jenkins, his 3 sons James, Eric, Gene (Mikey) Jenkins, his only daughter Melissa (Becky) Davis, and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will be holding a Celebration of life for James (Jimmy) Jenkins for all that knew him and his family on April 15, 2023, from 3:00pm-7:30pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church located at 44078 St. Andrew's Church Rd California Md. 20619. This will be an outdoor campfire setting and very casual (formal dress not required). For family and friends that are in Florida we will be having a similar Celebration of life later on May 6, 2023 at Alderman's Ford Park, for those who cannot make it to Maryland.
