Ira Ellsworth "Bud" Kilmon III, 72, of Huntingtown, MD, passed away on February 21, 2009, at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. Bud was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1936 to Edna and Ira Kilmon, Jr.

After spending four years in the USAF, he graduated from Shippensburg University in 1962. Bud married Rosemary Hartman in 1963 and moved his family to Maryland. His 32 year career of loyal service to the United States Government culminated with his retirement from Civil Service with the Navy in October 1991 as senior support engineer for the missile launcher for the U.S. and the U.K. Trident submarine programs. He was awarded the Navy's Civilian Meritorious Service Medal. He was also honored with The Silver Beaver Award granted by the Boy Scouts of America for his distinguished service to youth which included 22 years as a Scoutmaster.

Following his high-tech career, he moved on in the opposite direction to "high touch" endeavors. He graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage in 1994. That same year he became a certified teacher of T'ai Chi Chih as well as a Reiki Master. A natural healer, leader and teacher, he and his wife, Rosemary, started the Holistic Society of Calvert County in the early 1990's.

Bud was preceded in death by his son, Brian Todd Kilmon in 1987 and his first wife of 36 years, Rosemary E. Kilmon, in 1998. He leaves behind his wife of 8 years, Joan D. Kilmon, his daughter, Vicki Guest , her children Samantha Allen and Alex Guest of Owings, MD, his son, Michael Kilmon (Susan)of Raleigh, NC, and their children, Graham Kilmon(Candice) of Chicago, IL and Ganya Schaeffer (Burns) of Baltimore, MD, his daughter Shannon Woodard ( William Varner) and their children Will, Lily and Lacy Varner of Huntingtown, MD, his son Joel Roach and his daughter Skyler Baden of Huntingtown, MD and son Travis Roach ( Deanna Woomer) and their daughter Natalie Roach of Huntingtown,MD.

Bud's family as well as his many friends, colleagues, students, and massage clients will miss his kind and gentle spirit, and his joyous, positive outlook on life.
