Francis Vivian Wheatley Jr., 95, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata.

Born on July 12, 1927 in La Plata, he was the son of the late Rita A. Wheatley and Francis V. Wheatley Sr. Frank was a life-long farmer on the family farm, raising tobacco, variety of vegetables and livestock. He enjoyed spending time with family and hanging out with his brother Richard and sister Bernardine.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings Helen Marie McCann, James Howard Wheatley, Mary Alice Wheatley, Richard Thomas Wheatley, and Margaret Bernardine Wheatley.
Frank is survived by his wife Mildred H. Wheatley; daughters Beverly Bridgett (Melvin) and Cindy Bridges (Allen); grandchildren Thomas O. Bowling III (Melinda), Rita Marie Earnshaw (Tommy), Katelyn Cord (Brandon), Jennifer Zerbe (Jon), and Lauren Osborne (Sam); great grandchildren Madalyn Earnshaw, Matthew Bowling, Elsie Bowling, Layne Rollins, Anna Zerbe, Sadie Osborne, Hayden Cord, Ruby Cord, Elizabeth Zerbe, and Samuel Osborne; sister-in-law Jeanne Wheatley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 4PM to 7PM with Prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P. A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
Mass will be offered on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church (Newport), 11555 St. Mary's Church Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Thomas O. Bowling III, Jeffrey Wheatley, Matthew Bowling, Jonathan P. Zerbe, Samuel Osborne, Brandon Cord, Thomas L. Flint III, and Madalyn Earnshaw. Honorary Pallbearer is Timothy McCann.
