![]() Theresa "Terry" Ruth (Delaney) Cusick, wife of the late Philip Leary Cusick, passed from this life on December 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was sung into eternity by her daughter and granddaughters. Born in Cadyville, New York, Terry was the mother of nine children, twenty-two grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren (with three more on the way). Terry's greatest joy and passion was her family. Each child, grandchild and great grandchild was her "favorite." She was a confidante to each, a conspirator in mischief, a shoulder to cry on, the one at whom you could scream, "I hate you," knowing only love would be returned, the one who knew us at our darkest and our best, lifted us up, laughed the hardest, and the glue to our huge, messy, crazy, family. She was not only dedicated to her family but to all children and to her Roman Catholic faith. She saw something special in each individual, was the champion of the underdog, believed you could learn and do anything, a talented cake decorator, a Catechism teacher and consummate volunteer. Her motto was "Life isn't worth living if you can't laugh." She ended each night and each conversation with "God Bless You." In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Anne (Gibney) Delaney; six brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Philip L. (Linda) Cusick, Jr., of Belleville, IL; Michael P. (Virginia) Cusick of La Plata, MD; Jeffrey M. (Tammy) Cusick of Marbury, MD; Sue A. (William) Greer of Nanjemoy, MD; Barbara J. (Joel) Carpenter of Leonardtown, MD; Christy J. Cusick of Overland Park, KS; Kimberly L. Cusick of Crofton, MD; Gregory J. (Carrie) Cusick of Hughesville, MD; and Kelly M. (Jeffrey) Hawks Jr. of St. Leonard, MD. Her smile, her sense of humor, and great love lives on in all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy and lifetime were truly a gift. When asked how she raised so many children she replied simply, "God gave me all these children and told me to love them. So that's what I did." A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4:00PM until time of Prayers at 7:00PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:30PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in La Plata, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Terry's memory to ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, P.O. Box 907, Saline, MI 48176. |
