Harold George Linehan, 83, passed away at his residence in Lusby, MD on February 16, 2009. He was born on August 15, 1925 in Havril, Massachusetts to the late Ruth Simonds and Charles Linehan.

Mr. Linehan was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Navy. He entered the service on March 18, 1943 and was honorably discharged on February 8, 1946 from the U. S. Naval Personnel Separation Center, Bainbridge, MD, having achieved the rank of Seaman second class.

While in the U. S. Navy his service included the following vessels and stations that he was assigned to: NTS, Bainbridge, MD, RS Norfolk, VA, USNAB Espiriti Santo, NH, CASU #32 and the USS Saratoga. Mr. Linehan was awarded the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon with Two Stars, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.

Mr. Linehan was a Printer and Press Operator for the Naval Defense Printing Service. He retired on December 4, 1980 after thirty years of employment. In 1979 Mr. Linehan moved his family from New Carrollton, MD and relocated to Lusby, MD. In his earlier years Mr. Linehan passion and hobby was photography.

Harold George Linehan was the devoted husband of the late Dorothy Marie Linehan who preceded him in death on January 31, 2006.

He is survived by his beloved children Thomas and his wife Deborah Linehan of Lusby, MD and Linda and her husband Clark Curtis of Lusby, MD; loving grandfather of Nick, Melissa, Josh, Joelle, Jeremy and Daniel; brother of Charles and his wife Betty Linehan of San Diego, CA.

The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, P. A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD on Thursday, February 19 from 11:00 A.M. to the time of the service at 12:00 noon. Pastor Dave Kelly from Calvery Bible Church officiated.

Entombment was held on Friday, February 20, at 11:00 A.M. in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. Should friends desire contributions may be made in his memory to Calvert Hospice, P. O. Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
