![]() Franklin "Frank" Clifford Owens, Sr., 75 of White Plains, Maryland passed away at home on October 18, 2022.
He was born on February 18, 1947, in Washington D.C. to Minnie and Ray Owens. He grew up in Washington and graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1966. Frank served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1972, serving 3 years in the Vietnam War and the rest of his term in Alaska as an E-5 Army Ranger. Following his military service, he worked as a sculptor apprentice at the Washington Cathedral. He was well known for his passion for archeology and his love for the local Indian and Civil War history here in Charles County. Frank and Laura were married on October 19, 1974, whom he loved deeply. Frank is survived by his brother, George. His children Nathan, and Franklin "Frankie"(Tonya), George (Kirsten) Anita (Mike), and Denise (Terry). He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will be accepting friends for a Celebration of Life Gathering on October 29, 2022, at 1:00 pm at White Plains Baptist Church in Pomfret, MD.
