Mary Kipe Elliott, 84, of Broomes Island, MD passed away on February 10, 2009, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Mary was born on September 16, 1924, in Brunswick, Maryland to the late Ada Powell and Edward Kipe.

She worked for Calvert County School Board as a teacher's aide for over 20 years. She was known in the community for her lovely singing voice, and sung at many weddings and funerals in the county. Mary was an active member of Broomes Island Wesleyan Church and cherished the time she spent with her family and her Panda friends.

Devoted wife of H.C. "Duck" Elliott of Broomes Island and loving mother of Kathy Lynne Elliott of Crofton, MD, Kimberly A. Cegielski and husband Jim of Crofton, MD, Roberta Lynn Baird of Waldorf, MD, and stepmother of Michael C. Elliott and wife Deb of Barstow, MD. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Nadara Herbic Houser (married to Harry Houser) her son, the late Donald W. Dodson (married to Donna Dodson), and her brother, the late Harry J. Kipe. Mary is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family received friends on Thursday February 12, 2009, from 4 -7 p.m. at the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD. Funeral services were held on Friday February 13, 2009, 11 a.m. at Broomes Island Wesleyan Church, Broomes Island, Md. Interment private.

Active pallbearers were Michael Elliott, Jay Cleary, Stanley Pitcher, Maurice Lusby, Michael Moore, and D. O. Bowen. Her dear Panda friends, Betty Liddle, Shirley Bowen, and Betty Lou Buckler, served as Honorary pallbearers.
