On August 22, 2022, Patricia Madeline Swann, mother, grandmother, sister and friend went home to her final resting place.

Patty as she was more affectionately known, was born to the late Stanley and Dorothy Mae Berry on May 27, 1965. She was raised in Indian Head, MD and graduated from Lackey High School, in Charles County, MD. She married Harry A. Swann on August 24, 1991. Patty's career started at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD. Shortly after, she moved on to start a career with the Charles County Public Schools and retired in 2014. From there, she worked for the College of Southern Maryland and most recently for her cousin Cynthia at Dyson Daycare. In her career she left lifelong impressions and touched those who encountered her gentile sprit, devotion and her amazing heart.

Patty was a sweet soul with a heart of gold. She was loving, caring and nurturing. Her positive outlook touched many that she came in contact with, and anyone who was blessed with her presence felt that. She always gave her all to whatever she did. She was everyone's therapist, and approached every situation with a soul soothing approach. Regardless of the situation everyone knew to call her for advice. She had an approach that didn't matter what you were going through, you felt it would be alright after speaking to her.

She loved and adored her family and spending quality time, especially with her children. She was always happy and full of joy for each of their accomplishments. Patty loved and enjoyed her long rides out with her son Akeem, who would take her on long road trips everywhere, dining out at new restaurants, shopping at new stores and buying her flowers and just for being with her. She enjoyed Target & Starbucks runs with her daughter Hamilla and enjoyed spending time with her daughter Shakida, helping her plan things with her three grandchildren whom she loved so much. Patty enjoyed going on long walks with her fiancé, Thomas and her Yorkie named Benz who she loved an adored. Patty had a passion for decorating. Most who entered her humble abode thought it was a model home, because of how well it was decorated. She also had a love for Red Northern Cardinals and flowers.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Dorothy Mae Berry, brothers, Anthony "Tony" Berry, Stanley "Jackie" Berry, Francis Kelton and sister, Tracey Berry.

Patty's legacy lives on through her three children, Shakida L. Shaw (Brian), Akeem A. Swann and Hamilla K. Swann; three grandchildren, Ty' Janea Bradley, Jayda Bradley and Cyniah Bradley, and her fiancé, Thomas Creek; siblings, Katherine Datcher (Randy), Anna Mae Berry, Rosie Berry, Lonnie Berry, Brenda Bicknell (Donald), and Sheila Berry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Patty was saved as she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was faithful to the ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley of Intouch Ministries where she received her teachings and understandings of the word of God. She relied on God's word to start her day, get her through and end each day. We rest in peace knowing our beloved Patty is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
