Jamari Tyrese Duckett 18, of Great Mills MD, departed this life after receiving his crown and wings at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC, on July 10, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jamari was born on December 30, 2003 to Shownda Greenwell and John Duckett. He graduated from Great Mills High School in 2022. Jamari was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He served as an usher at the church since he was ten years.

Jamari was a kind-hearted and respectful young man who enjoyed spending time with his parents, siblings, family and friends. He had a love for music "Rod Wave" and a fresh pair of J's. Jamari loved and enjoyed sports. He was on the football team and track team while in high school. He also played football for the Pax River Raiders. Jamari received two Certificates for Engineering and Meter Reader at Dr. James A. Forrest Technology Center. He developed a strong work ethic. Jamari worked two jobs; Showtime Deli, where he gave great customer service and at Sheetz, where he just accepted a manager position, which he was excited about.

Jamari was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Lavella Bush; great-grandparents, William "Willie" Greenwell, Mary Annie Whalen Greenwell, and William "Benie" Bush; paternal great- grandmother, Mary Goldring Duckett, and great-grandfather, Joseph Spears, Sr.

Jamari leaves to remember and cherish his precious memories his beloved mother, Shownda Greenwell; father, John Duckett; four siblings, Zaiera Duckett, Devin Brooks , Javon Duckett, and Jamya Duckett; grandmother, Joanna Duckett; grandfathers, "Pop Pop" John Greenwell, and John Swales; aunts, Audrey "Tosha" Duckett, Tisha Duckett, Crystal Duckett, and Jocelyn Greenwell; uncles, Joe Bush, John "Tink" Greenwell , and Jermaine Greenwell; Godparents, Tasha Mason, Demarcus "Casper" Spears; great uncle, Jesse Greenwell, who had a special relationship with Jamari and a host of other great aunts and great uncles and other relatives and friends.

Family and friends will unite on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 for visitation at 10 am until time of service at 11 am at St. Mark UAME Church, 45685 Happyland Rd, Valley Lee, MD 20692. Interment to follow at Bethesda United Methodist Church cemetery, 19309 St. George's Church Rd, Valley Lee, MD 20692.
