Edward Joseph Kiernan, 72, passed away on November 9, 2006 at his home in St. Leonard, Md.

Beloved husband of Jane L. Kiernan of St. Leonard, devoted father of Debra Mister of Huntingtown, Raymond Joe Kiernan of Naperville, Illinois and Kirn Kiernan-Pitcher of Broomes Island. He is also survived by his grandchildren Angela Mister, Mercedes Kiernan, Joshua Kiernan and Amanda Pitcher.

Whitey was born January 11, 1934 in New York, New York to the late Edward Raymond and Phoebe Pendergast Kiernan. He served in the military for 22 years. After retirement from the Navy, he was a Plant Operator for BG&E for 20 years. He loved football, fishing and his family.

The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic Md. on Wednesday November 15, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was said on Thursday November 16, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Prince Frederick Md. Interment followed in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Md. with Honors provided by the Navy.
