Colleen Loudermilk Short, 76, of Waldorf, MD, died January 30, 2009, at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD.

Mrs. Short was a homemaker who moved to this area 50 years ago from Mt. Airy, GA. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, loved attending family gatherings.

Born April 5, 1932, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Allie L. Loudermilk and the late Netti Nancy Virginia Brooks Loudermilk; wife of the late Ben P. Johnson, Sr. and the late Thomas Short; and late son, Ben P. Johnson, Jr.

Survived by sons, Danny M. and John M. Johnson, Michael T. and David L. Short; daughter, V. Stacy Short Lavery; also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009, from 4-7 PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 6 PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. James G. Kirk will officiate.

Interment will be private.
