Russell Wallace Groves, 63, of Chesapeake Beach passed away June 7, 2022. He was born on June 26, 1958 in Montgomery County to Leonard Aubrey and Macie (Elswick) Groves. Russell graduated from Northwestern High School, and married Terri Groves on August 26, 1983 in Rockville. They lived in Hyattsville until 1985, when they moved to Huntingtown, later moving to Chesapeake Beach in 2015. He was employed as a plumber with the Plumbers Union Local 5 in Washington, D.C., working for Spartan Plumbing, W.L. Gary Company, Inc., American Combustion Industries, Trade Contracting, and JPG Plumbing Services. Russell was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Motocross Association and the Northern Youth Wrestling Club. He loved the Redskins, NASCAR, and watching his children's motocross racing.

Russell is survived by his son, Michael W. Groves and wife Kayla of Mechanicsville, daughter Kara A. Groves of Leonardtown, grandchildren Kaiden, Michael, and Jaxson, and a brother Tom Groves of Chesapeake, VA. Russell was preceded in death by his wife Terri, who passed on April 14, 2020, and his parents Leonard and Macie.
