Elsie Mae Buckmaster, 90, of Chesapeake Beach passed away peacefully on June 5, 2022. She was born November 14, 1931, in Prince Frederick, MD to James Russell and Mary Hardesty. Elsie was raised on the family farm in Sunderland, MD and graduated from Calvert High School. She married Robert Buckmaster in January of 1954 and moved to Chesapeake Beach where they raised their family. She was a member of the North Beach VFD Auxiliary for roughly 50 years, where she held several offices. She was also a member of the Southern Maryland Ladies Auxiliary. Elsie sold Avon for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing BINGO, cards, especially pitch, and softball. Most of all she enjoyed getting in her red Ford Focus and riding through the beach. Elsie was a friend to all and a mother to many. She will be missed by all.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents James Russell and Mary Hardesty, grandson Robert Buckmaster III, sister Lillian and Mary Jane, and brothers James and Maurice. She is survived by her children Roberta Bowen of Leonardtown, Barbara "Sissy" Groom (Danny) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Robert Buckmaster, Jr. of Lusby, and James Buckmaster (Angie) of Chesapeake Beach. Also surviving are her grandchildren Jana Vitecka (Rich), Kyle Groom, Heather Windsor (Ben), Zachary Buckmaster (Danielle), and Madison Buckmaster, and Kennedy Buckmaster, and great-grandchildren Gavin and Brynn Vitecka, Hunter Windsor, and Mia Buckmaster.
