James Ray Wise, Sr., 89, of Dunkirk passed away May 25, 2022 at his home with his children by his side. He was born October 13, 1932 in Beaumont, TX to James Oscar and Gladys Fern Wise. Raised in Beaumont, where he went on to Lamar University to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Jim became a member of the armed forces on September 21, 1954, where he served on active duty in the Air Force until his honorable discharge on June 13, 1958. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing, and was also quite the story teller.

He was the loving husband of Sharon for 60 years, who preceded him in death in 2019. A loving, caring, strong father to three children, Cynthia Pilon (David) of Littleton, CO, Bonnie Wise of North Beach, MD, and James Wise (Denise) of Bowie, MD. He is also survived by grandchildren, Joseph, Aaron, Anna, Jamie, Jessica, and Logan and great-grandchildren Reigan, Tylar, Olivia, and Nora. He was also preceded in death by his sister Jeanette.
