Washington, Richard Elmer, Age 69 of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

Richard Elmer Washington passed on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. He was born in Washington, D.C. on July 18, 1939 to the late William Bernard Washington and the late Gerturde Washington.

He attended public schools in Charles County, Maryland and worked as a laborer in construction for many years until his health failed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Thomas and brother, James Washington.

Left to cherish fond memories are his, three sisters, Cecelia Minor, Hattie Wilson and Violet Brown; six brothers, Walter, John, Dennis, Theodore "Teddy", Chester and William Washington; Also surviving are stepchildren, Wayne Key, Evelyn Key, Exbena Key and Doris Carroll; a very special grandson, Andrew Key and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Viewing, Saturday, February 7, 2009, 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 11220 Holly Springs Road, Nanjemoy, Maryland. Interment, Church Cemetery.
