Joan Harriet "Nana" Rapczynski, 79 of Lusby, MD and formerly of Brandywine, MD, passed away on May 3, 2022 at her residence.

Born December 15, 1942 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Calvin Koch and Kathryn Irene (Herb) Koch.

Joan graduated from Suitland High School in 1960. She was a school bus driver/coordinator for the Prince George's County School Board for fifteen years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Girl Scouts, Annmarie Gardens and the AMC. She loved spending time with her grandkids, sewing, crocheting and going to craft fairs. Joan was a Nationals baseball fan.

Joan is survived by her husband, Charles J. Rapczynski, whom she married on September 3, 1960 in Riverdale, MD; children, Buddy (Sandi) of Bel Alton, MD, Jimmy (Julie) of Mechanicsville, MD, Rick (Christy) of Mechanicsville, MD, Dan (Mary) of Alexandria, VA and Katy (Chris) of Haymarket, VA; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill Koch of Crossville, TN, Helen Koch of Fredericksburg, VA and Alice Hamilton of Cookeville, TN.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD. Reception to follow, location will be announced.
