Parran Broome Briscoe, age 56, of Saint Leonard, Maryland, passed in the care of the compassionate nurses at University of Maryland Medical Center on May 2, 2022. Parran was born on August 31, 1965 in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Cassandra Parran Briscoe and James Thompson Briscoe III.

Parran attended The Calverton School and Fork Union Military Academy, and he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Agriculture from North Carolina State University. He moved back to Southern Maryland to work on the family owned farms, Stonesby and Cage.

Parran was a 4th generation farmer on Stonesby Farm; he was committed to the preservation of the land for agricultural purposes and to pass to future generations. He farmed tobacco and grain, but he particularly loved his work raising beef cattle. When he wasn't farming, he enjoyed flying radio control planes, boating on the weekends, and collecting and fixing antique clocks and watches. He honed his craft of roasting pigs at Christ Church picnics, family celebrations, and even won a contest at Mount Victoria.

Parran was a lifelong member of Christ Church Port Republic; he served on the vestry for several terms. Parran was a member of the Vansville Farmers Club where he served as secretary for many years. He was also a member of Southern Maryland Society and the Southern State Co-op board; additionally, he served on the Colonial Farm Credit board nomination committee. He was awarded Cooperator of the year for Calvert Soil Conservation District for his good stewardship of Stonesby and Cage Farms in 2005.

He is survived by his loving wife Holly Rogers Briscoe, son James Thompson Briscoe IV, and daughter Delaney Barbara Briscoe of Saint Leonard. He is also survived by his sister Shannon Briscoe Campbell (David), brother Crofton Briscoe (Kim), and numerous nieces, and nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 8, from 1:00 to 5:00PM at "Stonesby" 7210 Parkers Wharf Road, Saint Leonard, MD. Memorial service will be held on Monday, May 9, at 11:00 AM at Christ Church, 3100 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD with Father Christopher Garcia. Inurnment to follow the services in the church cemetery.
