![]() Charles C. Vinson, 59, of Waldorf, MD, died January 26, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
Mr. Vinson was a Maintenance Engineer with the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, for 20 years and Head of Maintenance for Branchwood Towers in Clinton, MD, for 20 years. In his earlier years he worked at the Suitland Barber Shop. He was an avid hunter, liked by all - magnetic personality and a devoted family man. Born March 22, 1949, in Woodbury, TN, he was the son of Ike Vinson and the late Virginia White Vinson. Survived by his wife, Kathleen "Kathy" Vinson; sons, Charles and his wife Michelle Vinson, Jr., of Waldorf, MD; Jason and his wife Cynthia Johnson of White Plains, MD; Jodie and his wife Lisa Johnson of North Beach, MD; and Joshua Vinson of Waldorf, MD; brother, Ike Vinson of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Suzanne Dixon of TN; Jane Ivan of Golden Beach, MD; Martha Miller of Colonial Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Brittney, Chelsea, Tyler, and Deven. Also survived by his devoted uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law, great nieces and nephews, and his good friends at Branchwood and the Smithsonian. Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, La Plata, MD. Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 31 at 11 AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 17025, Baltimore, MD 21297-0191.
