oseph Leroy Knott, Jr., 59, of La Plata, MD, died January 24, 2009, in Pomfret, MD.

Joseph was disabled most of his adult life, but enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, dancing, and most importantly making everyone laugh! He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata.

Born November 16, 1949, in Newport, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Leroy Knott, Sr. and the late Mary Frances Baker Knott.

Predeceased by his parents; his wife, Hilda C. "Cissy" Knott; and brothers, James V., John L., Robert L., and Spriggs A. Knott.

Survived by son, Joseph Knott of Leonardtown, MD; sisters, Catherine L., Emogene T., Grace M., and Gay M. Knott, and Gayle L. and her husband Michael Johnson; two grandchildren; two aunts; two god-children; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 30, 2009, from 9:30-10:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, MD, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30am. Fr. Ron Potts will officiate.

Interment will be at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
