Marion Stout Ramey passed away April 2, 2022 at home after a long battle of illness. Marion was born October 31, 1937 in Russell, Arkansas to Harmon Hobson Ramey and Dorothy Lillian O'Neal.
After graduating High School, he worked from 1954 to 1988 in the FBI where he started in a clerical capacity while attending night school. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in accounting, and also studied business and personnel management at George Washington University. Marion received his appointment in 1961 as a Special Agent where he served in Cincinnati and Hamilton, Ohio, and then attended Russian Language School in Washington, DC. After serving as a Field Supervisor, he was transferred to the FBI Headquarters in 1968 where he served in Intelligence, Training, Crime Records and Planning, and the Inspection Division as a Supervisory Special Agent, Unit Chief, and Acting Section Chief. In 1973, he was detailed as Assistant Director, Surveys and Investigation Staff, Appropriations Committee U.S House of Representatives. In 1983, he was detailed to the Drug Enforcement Administration as Assistant Administrator and Chief Inspector. Following his retirement, he served as Executive Director of Special Agents Mutual Benefit Association. He fully retired in 2000 and was serving as Vice President and Director of the J. Edgar Hoover Foundation. Through the J. Edgar Hoover Foundation, he has been active in support of the National Law Enforcement Museum and was recently named to the Museum's Board. Marion was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, a member of the FBI Agents Association, a member of the Association of Former Federal Narcotics Agents, and a member of Calvert Elks Lodge 2620 where he was Trustee for several years.

Marion is survived by his life-long loving companion of 52 years, Jean Marie King, and her daughter Vicki Marie Rebel and husband Drew, his son Eliot Scott Ramey, Lt. Col., U.S.A.F. Retired, and his wife Simone, a grandson Lucas Jaeger Ramey, and by several nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, a son Allen Wade Ramey and a daughter Barbara Lynn Ramey Fox.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Former Agents of the FBI Foundation, 3717 Fettler Park Drive, Dumfries, VA 22025
