DAVID WILSON PICKERAL sunrise was August 23, 1949, in Waldorf, MD to John E. Pickeral, Sr. and Agnes R. Pickeral. He reached his sunset on March 18, 2022, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

David was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church. He received his education in the Charles County public-school system where he graduated from La Plata High School in 1968. He worked hard to support his family. He worked at the Indian Head Naval Base, Local 456 Construction, Maryland Highway Administration, Montgomery Wards, and Prince George's County School System. He would preach to his sons to take advantage of the education that is out there for them.

On April 23, 1970, David was united in Holy Matrimony to Valeria Butler. David enjoyed helping others, tinkering with cars, repairing lawn mowers, vacuum cleaners, shampooers, children's bicycles, playing the guitar & harmonica, listening to music, dancing, fishing and attending gatherings with family and friends. Traveling to visit his sons when they were in the military was a passion of his. In his spare time you could often find him at one of the casinos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Pickeral, Sr. and Agnes R. Pickeral, brother, John E. Pickeral, Jr.; sister, Rita Washington, brother in-law, Joseph Somerville, Jr. (Cintonya), niece, Erica Pickeral, and great niece, Akria Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories – wife, Valeria, sons, David Tyrone and Calvin (Tina); two grandchildren, Natalie and Joshua; sisters, Evelyn Pickeral, Thelma Butler (James), Doris Pickeral, Valerie Neal (Thomas), and Sylvia Wills; sisters in-law, Susann Willis, Deborah Somerville, Denise Somerville, Dianne Currie, Michele Fleming (DeWitt) and Myra Clark (Elroy); brothers-in-law, Arthur Washington and Wayne Somerville (Audrey); two God-children, Shelia Glasgow and Angela Tibbs and a host of relatives and friends.
