Dale Erwin "Joe Joe" Pilkerton, 67, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. He was born on October 20, 1954 to the late William Joseph Pilkerton and Agnes Rosalie (Quade) Pilkerton.

For everyone who knew Dale, also know him as "Joe Joe". We all know he was an absolute happy soul. He enjoyed the outside life, fishing and watching the wildlife. He enjoyed the serenity of watching the water.

Family and friends meant the world to Joe. He would go visit on weekends and loved to go to his niece Lisa's, to watch everyone enjoy the pool. However, if the games were on TV, he would always be back home in time for car racing, football and baseball games.

Joe was always surrounded by sisters, six to be exact and his loving niece, Lisa. They all are guilty of spoiling him and really kind of proud of it. He would do anything for them.

His little pride and joy whom he loved dearly is his cat Baby Girl Inky. She is at home waiting patiently for him to return.

Joe, you will be missed deeply but we know you are on your way home…

Joe is survived by his siblings, Paul "Wayne" Pilkerton (Susie), Darlene Marie Adams (Mel), Frances "Molly" Greenwell (Gilbert), Maxine Delores Wilkerson (Charles) and Loretta Ann Olmstead (Jerry); and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Pilkerton and siblings, William Morris Pilkerton, Laura Mae Flanary and Nancy Lee Pilkerton.

Pall bearers will be Steve Pilkerton, Gary Pilkerton, Danny Pilkerton, Chase Asmussen, Cody Greenwell, Tony Greenwell and honorary pall bearer, Robby Pilkerton.

The family will receive friends for Joe's Visitation on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Fr. Michael Tietjen at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will follow immediately at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request you consider making a donation in Joe's name to The National Kidney Foundation, https://www.kidney.org/donation.
