Sandra Kay Meador, 79, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2022 in MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1942 in Crab Orchard, WV to James Wilbur Collins and Iline Blevins. She was one (1) of three (3) children.

After graduating from high school, she worked many different jobs before starting her career as an Administrative Assistant for Eugene Copsey's Septic Plumbing. She worked there for many years, making a lot of lifelong friends along the way.

In 1963, she met Thomas Lee Meador, and they wed a short time later, going on to have two children, Thomas and Brian Meador.

Kay was talented in so many aspects of her life. She was a genius with words and writing even though she never pursued that path. She was also an amazing baker. Aside from that, Kay enjoyed making arts and crafts, and cuddling on the couch watching movies. Most importantly Sandra was a terrific mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were her life. There was never a day that went by she didn't brag about her beautiful babies.

Kay's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were Blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here.

Kay is survived by her sons, Thomas Lee Meador or Port Orange, FL and Brian Keith Meador of Mechanicsville, MD; her brother Howard Ray Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren Joshua Meador, Brian Meador and Mariah Meador and her great granddaughter Amari Meador. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lee Meador, James Wilbur Collins and Iline Blevins and her brother James "Butch" Lowell Collins.

The family would like to thank Tiffany Lynn Hancock Kay's daily companion as they spent every day together.

The family will be accepting friends for Kay's Life Celebration on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. at 30195 Three Notch Rd, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Prayers at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dennis Gillikin of Encounter Christian Center in Charlotte Hall, MD. The Interment will be the next day, Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Rd, Leonardtown, MD 20650, at 2:00 p.m.
