Suzanne Mary Hornecker, 69, of Lusby, MD passed away on January 29, 2022 at her residence. Born April 16, 1952 in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. Grud and Agnes P. (Babits) Grud.

Suzanne graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Fashion Merchandizing. She started her career as a department manager at Lord & Taylor and later transitioned to education once her children were of school age. Suzanne had an infectious laugh and an amazing way of making people feel good. She enjoyed travel, the sun, and being with family. The most important thing to her was spoiling her grandchildren. Family was everything to her. Celebrating holidays with family around was the only way she wanted it. Suzanne also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing the slot machines. She loved her fur babies, mostly poodles. Her favorite quote was "I love you to the moon and back."

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Barry Hornecker whom she married on July 12, 1975; her son, Thomas M. Hornecker (Lori) and daughter, Kathryn A. Hornecker Wingenter (Timothy); grandchildren, Natalie G. Hornecker, Olivia R. Hornecker, Kaleb M. Wingenter, Tyler C. Wingenter and Lacey A. Wingenter; and her brother, John M. Grud (Ursula). She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas A. Grud.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Solomons, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens, Port Republic, MD.
