Former Waldorf resident, Terry Oxendine, son of Margolus and Nora Oxendine, father of Mark and Charlie Oxendine and Grandfather of Liam, Abel and Jaxx Oxendine, passed away on January 11th 2022. He was born March 3rd 1953 in Laurenburg, NC, grew up in Lumberton, NC and Fort Belvoir, Va.

He played baseball and graduated at Mount Vernon High School, Alexandria, Va. Mr. Oxendine earned a baseball scholarship to Pembroke State University in North Carolina, where he earned a B.S. degree in Management. He worked for the Acacia Group (Calvert Securities) and Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Washington D.C. as a Systems Manager.

He continued his love of baseball by playing in the Maryland Industrial league for Fairfax Furniture, Charles/St. Mary's League in Southern Maryland, the Chesapeake League, MSBL and represented the US Men's Senior Team in Cuba. One of his cherished moments was being honored to be inducted into the Sandlot Hall of Fame for the Washington D.C., as well as being inducted into the Home Plate Club as a member of their Quarter Century All Star Team.

While he was known as a great baseball player in his own right, his greatest love was coaching. Mr. Oxendine, or better known as Coach Ox, coached his sons, along with many others, through Waldorf Little League, Thomas Stone High School and North Point High School.

He is survived by his mother, his two sons, three grandsons, two sisters, niece, nephews and through every person who he was ever happily able to coach and play with, throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his father Margolus Oxendine.
