Kathleen "Kathie" Patricia Morrone, 68, of Chesapeake Beach passed on Monday January 24, 2022 at University of Maryland Baltimore Hospital.

Kathie was born December 1, 1953 in Washington, DC and raised in Oxon Hill, where she graduated from Oxon Hill High School.

Kathie is the oldest of seven children, one of which preceded her in death. Growing up in a large family meant she was always devoted to family time and was the happiest when surrounded by her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Kathie loved to garden, read books and spend time with her family. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother and friend. "To know her was to love her."

Kathie married the late Pasquale "Pat" Morrone on December 31,1972 and moved to Chesapeake Beach in 1986, where she has lived up until her time of death. She worked as an executive administrative assistant for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union for many years before going to work with the Communications Workers of America Union and ultimately retiring in 2013.

Kathie was preceded in death by her husband Pasquale Morrone, daughter Erin Legreco, brother Joseph LaPlaca, and parents Francis and Monica Brazell.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Jason Morrone and Michael Morrone Sr (Jessica). Her grandchildren Kaitlyn Moreira (Nuno), Courtney Morrone, Michael Morrone, Jr. (Alexis), Conner Morrone, Ashleigh Lagreco, Jorja Lagreco, Maddox Morrone, Olivia James, Ivy James, Joseph Foley, and Nicholas Foley, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Maggie Webb (Eddie), Cindy Lamb, Ann Myers (Jim), and Casey Gignac (Ed), brothers John Brazell and Mark LaPlaca (Billie), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
