Joseph Robert Willett of Accokeek, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born on August 18, 1934 to the late Robert and Carrie Willett.

Robert joined the United States Army July 20, 1953 where he served in Germany as a marksman and heavy equipment operator, until his Honorable Discharge on July 6, 1956. After serving in the Army, he worked various odd jobs but his major occupation was as a Carpenter for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Carpenters 132 Union.

He is survived by his Loving Wife Lillian Louise Willett of 65 years, his children Joseph R. Willett, Jr. (Jeanne), Judy A. Bazzarre (Frank), Linda L. Harris, and Larry W. Willett. He is also survived by his four Grandchildren Jennifer Maese, Bradley Bazzarre, Joseph Willett, III, and Larry Willett, Jr., and his three Great-Grandchildren Joseph R. Willett, IV, Anna M. Willett, and Isla J. Bazzarre.

He loved laughing, joking around and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to country music but more so to his blue grass music. He played around with the guitar and the dobro.

He enjoyed going to watch his grandchildren playing sports. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, building things and tinkering in his garage. He enjoyed the Washington Football Team (Formerly the Washington Redskins) and watching football in general.

Visitation will be at Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD 20601 on Tuesday, January 25th from 9:00AM-10:00AM with a Service starting at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
