Christopher Todd Henrichsen, of Lusby, Md., was born in Washington, D.C. on November 19, 1976. He passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2021, due to surgery complications. He grew up in the suburbs of DC, where he gained his love for politics and became a devout Republican. He served as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1995 to 1997 in Anaheim California, Vietnamese-speaking. While in the service of the Lord, he saw the light and he came home a devout Democrat.

While studying journalism at Ricks College in Rexburg Idaho, he met his Lyndee Marie Curtis. Wasting no time, they were married and sealed for all eternity 8 months later on August 21st, 1998 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. Their first son, Todd Abraham Henrichsen, was born, and two weeks later, with his wife and son at his side, Chris graduated with a bachelor's in political science from the University of Utah. Almost two years later, Shem Foster Henrichsen, the second, biggest, and most athletic was born. Shortly after finishing his master's degree in Political Theory, his first and favorite daughter, Geneva Adriane Henrichsen, was born.

Chris is a lifelong teacher. His teaching began on his mission and continued as an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University. He later taught political science at BYU Idaho and Provo as well as Casper College. He taught middle school in Las Vegas and most recently taught social studies at Huntingtown High School. Chris taught driver's education at Chesapeake Driving School and was working on his Ph.D. He loved each and every one of his students, and they loved him. His family often participated in long conversations about his students and colleagues. They meant so much to him.

Chris loves punk rock, politics, and Diet Coke. But most of all, he loves his family. They have been and will always be his number one priority, and they will be forever blessed to have had him in their lives.

Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Richard Ernest Henrichsen, and his niece SarahLyn Henrichsen. He is survived by his wife, Lyndee, and his three children, Todd, Shem, and Geneva. He is also survived by his mother, Carla Henrichsen, his two siblings, Richard Henrichsen (JoAnn) and Britt Mageras (Mark), and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lexington Park, 22747 Old Rolling Rd, Lexington Park, Maryland on Saturday, December 18th at 11 AM. There will be a viewing Friday, December 17th from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday, December 18th from 9 to 10:30 AM in the same location. Burial services will be held at the Upton, Utah Cemetery on Tuesday, December 21st at 11 AM.

All family, friends, colleagues, and students are invited to attend these events and celebrate his life. The family would like to give a special thanks to Huntingtown High School, Calvert County School District, and the Lexington Park Ward.
