Rosemary "Rose" Jerew of Hughesville, MD, passed peacefully on December 5, 2021 at Calvert County Nursing Center.

Born May 29th, 1942 in Baltimore, MD to her Mother Lucille Windsor, spending her younger years in Prince George's County, MD (Accokeek, Upper Marlboro and Ardwick Ardmore). She met the love of her life James "Jimmy" Jerew, Sr., and married at the age of 16 on December 23, 1958. They went on to have 4 sons, Sonny, Bobby, Mark and Ronnie.

Rose was employed by Prince George's County School Board as a Bus Driver for more than 30 years. She met so many children throughout the years. Rose retired in 2012. She spent her retirement visiting with family and friends, as well as, visiting local casinos where she enjoyed playing slots.

As years progressed Rose was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, although dementia began to muddle her memories Rose continued to remember her family. She missed her husband, sons and family that passed on before her. Rose lit up whenever she was is the company of family, friends and even those not so familiar.

Rose has now reunited in heaven with her husband and 3 sons.

Rose is survived by her son Ronald "Ronnie" Jerew (Brenda Tayman) of Hughesville, MD; brother, Albert "Buck" Ridgeway of TN; grandchildren, Danielle Jerew-Evans (Tommy), Ryan Lay, Tyelee Jerew, Ashley Barrett (Travis) and Zack Isaacs Jerew (Alexis); and great grandchildren, Brice Jerew, Makenzie Lay, Teagan Barrett, Adelynn "Addie" Jerew and one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Jerew, Sr.; mother, Lucille Windsor; sons, James "Sonny" Jerew, Jr. (Kathy), Harold "Bobby" Jerew and Mark Lay; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Jerew and Jessie James Jerew; and brothers, James Windsor and Norman "Skip" Ridgeway.

The family will receive friends for Rose's Visitation on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will take place privately at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
