![]() David Michael Lanham, Sr., age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Dave was born in Washington, DC on June 23, 1941 to Joseph and Anna Lanham. He attended Bladensburg High School. Dave was drafted for the Army in 1964 and spent 2 years in the service. After serving, he worked as a mechanic at his brother's business and later became a truck driver. Dave loved what he did and loved visiting the people he met through his job. He especially loved making his deliveries while dressed up for Halloween and dressed up as Santa and the Grinch for Christmas. Everyone loved receiving his unique and thoughtful gifts.
Dave liked to spend time in "the country" in Virginia, going fishing, and watching wrestling. He found a hobby in tinkering with things: he would rather buy something old and fix it than buy something new. He enjoyed singing and karaoke. When visiting with family, he loved singing some of his favorite songs for them. Dave would do anything for anyone. He loved making people laugh through his jokes and storytelling. He is survived by his son, Mike Lanham and wife Mary of Dunkirk, Maryland, and daughter Loretta Waddell and husband Adam of St. Leonard, Maryland. Dave leaves behind his siblings- Norma, Debbie and Judy, as well as 10 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Joseph, Robert and Karen. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on December 10th at 10 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in North Beach, MD, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12pm. The interment will be at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Owings, MD.
