Ronald (Ron) William Johnson, 71, of Indian Head, Maryland, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at his home.

Ronald was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed working with his hands and building things. He loved spending time with his family and friends being a jokester. He was a talented musician playing with friends whenever possible, he enjoyed a good poker game, shooting pool, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corp as an Auto mechanic.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 114 in La Plata, Maryland and the Moose Lodge 1712 of Indian Head, Md.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lester Wilhelm Johnson and Grace Elizabeth Johnson, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; daughter Stacy Johnson, of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania; and brother Paul R. Johnson of Charlotte Hall, Maryland.

He is survived by his daughters Kathi Mooney (Henry) of Hedgesville, West Virginia; Melanie Havens of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania; son Ronald (RJ) Johnson, Jr., also of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania; sisters Beverly Conrad, Colonial Beach, VA; and Lois Ciampo, Leonardtown, Maryland; nieces, nephews, and many grand and great-grand grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later day for friends and family, and a private burial will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
