Louise R. Salsbury passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. She was 89 years old.

Louise was born on April 29, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA to Dominic and Ruth Nappi. In 1938, her family settled in Washington, DC. Louise married the love of her life, Peter Salsbury, on September 13, 1952. Together they raised four children and owned/operated Salsbury Electric Co., Inc.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Ruth Nappi; her husband, Peter Salsbury; her brother, Joe Nappi; her sister, Ruth Ann Petropol; her son-in-law, Rick Farrell; and her son, Peter Salsbury Ill, who passed away one day before Louise on September 20, 2021.

Louise is survived by her sister, Peggy Fyanes; her daughters, Sue Farrell, Cathy Thorne (Bob), and Karen Flamm (Ed); her daughter-in-law, Carol Salsbury; her grandchildren, Rickey Farrell (Lara), Chrissy Spangler (Josh), Michael Farrell (Lydia), Steven Thorne (Amber), Danny Salsbury (Emily), and Jimmy Salsbury; along with her great-grandchildren, Josh, Alex, Nickolas and Ryan Spangler; her sister-in-laws, Lois Campbell, Bernice Fones, and Betty Baker; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise enjoyed working in her gardens, playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and cheering for her beloved Washington Redskins. She was rarely seen without her camera at holidays and family events. Capturing memories was important to her. Louise began most days reading the newspaper and ended her evenings watching episodes of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a devoted Catholic and believed strongly she would be reunited with her husband in heaven.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646) beginning at 9am with a Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment will be held at the Trinity Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, PO Box 1390, LaPlata, MD 20646.
