Jerome "Jerry" Jameson, 79, of LaPlata, MD died on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in LaPlata, MD.

He was born on December 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor Day) in Washington, DC to the late Jerome V. and Dorothy (Harding) Jameson. Jerry is also predeceased by his beloved wife of 39 years, Mary Ellen (Harmon). He was the oldest of 6 siblings.

Jerry is survived by his children, Daniel (Richanda), Kenneth (Paula), Julie, and his grandson, Dallas. He will also be greatly missed by his sister, Deborah Jameson, friend, Kim Savoy, cherished cat, Lacy, and many other friends and family.

He is a veteran of the Air Force serving during Vietnam (Andrews AFB and Loring AFB, ME). Jerry worked for the Department of the Navy for 37 years as a dedicated Master HVAC Technician. He was at the top of his field at the time of his retirement in 2003.

Jerry enjoyed spending time on his family farm in Hughesville, MD, was an avid hunter, fisherman, boatsman and loved canoeing. He was a highly skilled R/C airplane pilot/builder, woodworker, and craftsman. He always found a way to ride his motorcycles regardless of weather. Somehow, on occasion, enjoying all the above at the same time. Jerry loved his church family at St. Ignatius Hilltop, MD where he was a devoted parishioner for almost 50 years. He was an active member of many clubs including the Charles County Radio Control Club, Southern Maryland Dirt Riders, and the VFW. Jerry was involved in many charities including driving for DAV and was active in anything relating to his passions. Church, Country, Community, and hobbies.

Jerry left an indelible mark on all he encountered. Anyone who's had even the briefest of encounters with him will have a story to tell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 28th at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St. Mary's Ave. LaPlata, MD 20646) from 4 to 7 PM with prayers at 5PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 29th, 10 AM at the St. Ignatius Hilltop Church (7640 Port Tobacco Rd. Port Tobacco, MD 20677). Interment will be held at the Wesleyan Memorial Gardens (9690 Shepherds Creek Pl. LaPlata, MD 20646) at 1:45 PM. Services will be recorded and shared later for those that will not be able to attend.
