Mary Travers Freeman, 84, of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away on July 24, 2021 at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD.

She was born on May 19, 1937 in Laurel, MD to the late James Philip Travers, Sr. and Doris Imagene Bond Travers.

Mary is a graduate of Strayer Business College and began her career with Brick Layers International Union in Washington, D.C. After the riots in Washington D.C. in the 1960's she went to work for Harley Davidson of Washington, located in Fort Washington, MD for 20 years. After that she worked for various car dealerships as a Tag and Title Specialist in the automotive industry until she was 77 years old, retiring in December 2013. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed working with people.

In 1974, she moved to Southern Maryland from Shadyside, MD via Camp Springs, MD. She was a sports enthusiast. She watched football, baseball, basketball, golf and NASCAR. She always knew the scores and stats for many teams. She loved her pet dogs, owning Chihuahua's and Sheltie's. She loved spending time on the water, boating and water skiing. She also enjoyed eating Maryland blue crabs and was a talented Ukulele player, not to mention her talents in the flower gardens. She also loved spending time putting her puzzles together and decorating her house for the various holidays.

Mary is survived by her sons, Dennis Wayne Freeman (Amy) of Abell, MD and Richard Bruce Freeman (Marlene) of Hollywood, MD; her sister-in-law, Frances "Fran" Travers of Waldorf, MD; her grandchildren: Travis Wayne Freeman (Brittany) of Charlotte Hall, MD, Brandy Lynn Richards (Chad) of Mechanicsville, MD and David Harding; her great-grandchildren: Taylor Richards, Nathen Richards, Alivia Richards, Mason Freeman, Colton Freeman, and McKenna Freeman; and extended family. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her brother, James Philip Travers, Jr. and her grandson, Ray Harding, Jr.

Family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. , with a Funeral Service celebrated at 11:00 a.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD.

Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Freeman, Nathen Richards, Chad Richards, Richard Bussey, David Williams and Rick Freeman
