![]() Lula Mae Lewis Jordan was call home to glory on December 17, 2008 at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, Maryland. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 22, 1925 to the late Alfred and the late Susie Lewis. She attended St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Washington D.C., until her health started to fail and she could no longer walk.
Her Nieces and Nephews where very special to her; they were her life. She found great joy in preparing soul food dinners for the whole family and their friends. It was a must that you come to her house and eat or she would get upset. Her specialty was making home made souse meat from scratch to give to family members, and it was good. She was preceded in death by her husband William Randolph Jordan. Lula is survived by her niece, Diane, whom she raised; one sister, Daisy Fields and husband, Edward; nephews, Curtis Lewis and wife, Leslie, James Baxter and wife, Marie, Chester Baxter, Donald Baxter and wife, Lisa and Bobby Lewis; nieces, Geraldine "Geri" Davis and husband, Kirk, Dennia Cook and husband, Charles; brothers-in-law, Oswald Jordan and wife, Mary, Cecil Jordan and wife, Louise, Earl Jordan and wife, Everdene; one sister-in-law, Edna Livingston; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Viewing, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 from 8:30 am until time of Service, 9:30 am at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland.
