Avis Reeves Smith, "Avis" age 84. Passed away on December 13, 2008 at her residence in Lusby, MD.

Avis was born on July 17, 1924 in Virginia to the late Beatrice Reams Reeves and Thomas Langston Reeves.

Mrs. Smith worked as a receptionist in the mental health care field. She retired in 1990. In 1999 she moved from her home in Prince George's County. MD to come and live with her son Gene in Lusby, MD.

Avis Reeves Smith was the beloved wife of the late Eugene McTyere Smith, Jr. who passed away on May 5, 1999. Avis is the loving mother of Gene M. Smith, III of Lusby, MD and Tom L. Smith, PhD of Olympia, WA. She is also survived by her granddaughter Jennifer Smith.
