Hattie Alberta Morgan, 75, of Mechanicsville, MD died December 17, 2008 in Washington Hospital Center. Born February 16, 1933 in Prince George's County, MD she was the daughter of the late Philip Temple and Elizabeth Leonard Burch Bowles.

She was the loving wife of John Woodly Morgan whom she married on December 29, 1950 in Morganza, MD.

She is survived by her children: Joseph Woodley Morgan, Mary Elizabeth Morgan, Cora "Christine" Pirner, James Johnson Morgan and Michael Eugene Morgan all of Mechanicsville, MD, David Ellsworth Morgan of Lexington Park, MD and John "Dennis" Morgan; siblings: Adrian Bowles of Mechanicsville, MD, Louise Griffit of Prince Frederick, MD and Evelyn Bowles of FL; grandchildren: Billy Joesph Morgan, Thomas David Morgan, Melinda Sue Stone, Jessie Wayne Morgan and Cliff Charles Morgan and great grandchildren: Marcus Anthony Stone, Marissa Danielle Morgan, Mya Shyann Stone, Hallie Madison Morgan, Abigale Elizabeth Morgan and Keaton Tyler Morgan.

She was also preceded in death by her sons: Charles "Donald" Morgan and Thomas Wayne Morgan and her siblings: Dennis Bowles, Herman Bowles, Loyd Bowles, Richard Bowles, Ellsworth Bowles, Louis Bowles, Kenith Bowles and Mildred Bowles.

Mrs. Morgan was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident where she was a homemaker.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Green officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers will be: Billy Joesph Morgan, Thomas David Morgan, Jessie Wayne Morgan, David Ellsworth Morgan, Wayne Wathen, Dale Wathen and Elvis Wathen.
