Edith Irene Burandt, better known as Dee, 69 of California, MD, died December 10, 2008 at her residence. Dee was born August 17, 1939 in Washington, DC to Henry and Eva Schooley.

Dee is survived by her husband, Gerald Allen Burandt, brother; William Schooley, daughters; Bunny Russell, Happy Estes and Dee Estep, son; Thomas Burandt, grandchildren; Tiffany Harrell, Lacey Russell, Nichole Russell, Heather Russell, Victoria Russell, Mikala Swords and Paige Estep and great-granddaughter; Trinity Russell.

Dee worked as a secretary for the Steamfitters Union Local 602 in Washington, DC.
She is a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in both North Carolina and Maryland. She is also a Majority Member of Job's Daughters International.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 1 to 2pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650 where a Memorial Service will be conducted at 2pm. A reception will follow at Thomas J. Shryock Masonic Lodge, 22410 Mervell Dean Road, Hollywood, MD 20636
