Robin Lee Armour, 25, of Hughesville died at home on December 9. Born October 5, 1983 in Clinton, MD., she was the daughter of Robert and Barbara Armour.

She graduated from LaPlata High School, and attended the College of Southern Maryland. She enjoyed reading, photography, sewing, crocheting, and attending concerts with friends.

Robin was a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Southern Maryland. Her desire to help others was apparent from the moment the affiliate began its work in 2006. She was an active participant in NAMI SoMD's first mental health education and awareness workshop for the community. As the affiliate grew, Robin was there for the launch of its first peer support group in 2007, and went on to graduate from NAMI Maryland's certification training for Connection Program facilitators. She recognized how important it was to help the growing affiliate manage its increasing workload, and dedicated many volunteer hours to organizing and developing NAMI SoMD's regional membership database. Gentle and soft-spoken, thoughtful and intelligent, Robin's beauty and grace -- inside and out -- showed in the work she did that gave so much to the community; touched people in need of friendship, encouragement, and support; and embraced the gifts of love, support, and understanding that families offer.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Jonathan DiGirolamo of Raleigh, NC, brother; John David Armour, and sister-in-law Lacey Armour, of Wake Forest, NC; grandmother Cecelia Armour, of Palm Coast, FL; uncle, William Armour and aunt, Rosann Armour, of Falls Church, VA.

Robin was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Albert and Hazel Loeffler; and paternal grandfather, Edward Armour.

A Memorial service will be held at the Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 15, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to NAMI Southern Maryland, P.O. Box 25, Lexington Park, Maryland 20653.

Arrangements provided by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
