Gray, Gladys Edna Jackson, Age 76 of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

On Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Gladys E. Gray transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal.

She was born on November 2, 1932 in Doncaster, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Julia Matthews Jackson and the late Nobel Jackson.

Gladys as she was affectionately called was educated in the Charles County Public School system and was employed by and retired from the Charles County Board of Education. Gladys was a member of the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Nanjemoy, Maryland.

Gladys was married to the late Rev. Charles Gray. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters except one.

Left to cherish fond memories is her only sister, Orlene Thomas (Leo); brothers-in-law, Henry "VanDyke" Lewis, Clarence Gray (Joyce), Cleveland Gray (Juanita) and Charles Swann (Peggy); sister-in-law, Annie Jackson; nieces, Edna Proctor, Cynthia Cobey (Joseph) and Patricia Jackson; nephews, Frances Jackson (Ruth), James Thomas (Beatrice), Charles Jackson (Hazel), James Jackson (Ardell), Lloyd Jackson (Penny) and Clifton Jackson, Jr.; Godchildren, Monica Wynn and Joey Cobey; devoted nephews, Michael Swann (Deborah), Francis Burns and Glenn Swann (Ronica); devoted niece, Ivy Swann and special friends, Eugene & Bernice Daye.

Her Viewing will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008, 9:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Nanjemoy, Maryland. Interment Church Cemetery.
