Mary Ruth Neale Somerville, 75 of Leonardtown, MD died December 8, 2008 at her residence. Born October 29, 1933 in Maddox, MD she was the daughter of the late Clarence Thomas and Nellie Gertrude Neale.

She was the loving wife of George Mitchell Somerville, Sr. whom she married on October 12, 1957 in Leonardtown, MD.

She is also survived by her children; Roy Chesley and his wife Jackie of Waldorf, MD, Joyce White and her husband Richard of Tanzania, Africa, Deborah Khavkin of Arlington, VA, Barbara Somerville and her husband William of Silver Spring, MD, George Somerville, Jr. of Leonardtown, MD and Clarence Somerville of Jessup, MD; her siblings; Helen Hebb and her husband William of Hollywood, MD, Theresa Collins and her husband James of Hollywood, MD, Veronica Scriber of Clements, MD, Christopher Neale and his wife Norma of Riverdale, MD and George Curtis of Washington, DC.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Gertrude Priestly and her siblings; William Neale, Lawrence Neale, Clarence Neale II and John Francis Neale.

A lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, Mary graduated from Banneker High School "Class of 1951". She attended the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore from 1951-1953. She has been an active Jehovah's Witness since 1965 when she was baptized and was a full time minister for more than thirty years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Callaway, MD with Floyd Johnson officiating. Interment will be private.
