John Mark O'Leary, Jr. "Jack", 86, of St. Leonard, MD, passed away on Dec. 6, 2008 at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Jack was born August 22, 1922 in Washington DC to the late John M. and Esther Loveless O'Leary.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Marge O'Leary, and two brothers George and Russell O'Leary. Jack graduated from Anacostia High School in 1942, when he then proudly served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. After leaving the Navy in 1954, he went to work for Burroughs Corporation in Washington DC until his retirement.

Jack and his wife Marge lived and raised their family in Accokeek, MD and upon his retirement they moved to Murrells Inlet, SC where Jack enjoyed fishing and working at Captain Dick's Marina. He was active the American Legion and VFW in every community where he lived. After Marge's death, Jack returned to Maryland and in 2004 he met and married Emily and they lived joyfully on St. Leonard Creek in Calvert County.

Beloved husband of Emily Allen O'Leary of St. Leonard, MD, father of Dennis O'Leary and his wife Judy of White Plains, MD and Mark O'Leary and his wife Tracy of Waldorf, MD.

He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Christie Schamansky of Charleston SC, Mark O'Leary of Waldorf MD and Angelina O'Leary of White Plains, MD.

The family will receive friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD on Wednesday December 10, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A memorial mass will be offered on Thursday December 11, 2008, 11 A.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Solomon's, MD. Interment is private.
